Without a proper way of removing the red wine stain, things become irritating and you might end up damaging the fabric of your carpet.

What to do when you have a red wine stain on your carpet?

• Your best move right after you get a red wine stain is to grab any dry, powdery material and apply it generously on the red wine stain. Any of the following material will also help: white wine, baking soda, vinegar, club soda or salt.
• Pour the neutralizer (white wine, soda or salt) over the red wine stain. Then use a clean towel to blot up the liquid. Dampen a sponge with cold water and blot it on the stain.
• Once you blot it, put salt on the wine stain. This help to deter the wine from setting into your carpet. Keep putting salt until it no longer absorbs the wine.
• Lastly, cover the stain with another layer of salt and cover the salt with a layer of paper towels. If possible, place a heavy object on the towel and allow it to stay overnight.
• Remove it the next morning and vacuum the salt. If the stain is still there, repeat the process or call for professional service.
